We were fortunate to be able to take a week-long vacation to visit Mark's family in Moss Point, MS and then go on to the beach and Mobile, AL. We had a good trip. It was just right for the kids at this age. This will be a long blog entry because of all the pictures. I know I should have probably just done a slideshow, but I liked doing the journal style.
Thursday: We began driving towards Mississippi and spent the night in L.A. (lower Alabama). It helped to be able to split the drive. After we ate supper we went into a Bass Pro shop, which is actually a pretty fun place to take the kids!Friday: (Mississippi) We drove on to Moss Point, MS to Aunt Kay and Uncle Bobby's. It was so good to be able to visit with the Lynn family this weekend! We were able to see all of Mark's cousins: Michael, Todd, and Kiley as well as their wives and children. Bonnie, George, Mer-Mer, and Paw-Paw also arrived in Moss Point Friday afternoon and we had a wonderful visit. Belle really enjoyed the tree swing at Aunt Kay and Uncle Bobby's.
Saturday: (Mississippi) We went to a corn maze, which was tons of fun! That evening, Kiley and Jennifer had everyone over for a fish and shrimp fry.

Sunday: (Mississippi) We went to visit at Aunt Kay and Uncle Bobby's and then Kiley and Maren came over and took George, Mark, Belle, and me out on a boat ride where we saw big ships, dolphins, and we stopped at a small uninhabited island where the girls played in the sand and I picked up really large seashells! That evening, we went to a cook-out at Michael and Mary's house.
Monday: We drove to Orange Beach, AL where we were staying overnight. We all went out and played on the beach until naptime, then went back out that evening. The kids had a good time and we were fortunate that the weather was good. They would walk into the water some, but the sand was the biggest hit.

Tuesday: We went to the beach after breakfast. Belle had a really good time again, but Bo could take it or leave it at this point. He just kept trying to walk back to the hotel. Then, we drove to Mobile and visited the WWII battleship. Belle enjoyed climbing up and down all the steps to see all of the compartments.

On Wednesday we visited the Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Museum in Mobile, which the kids loved!

We arrived back home Thursday evening.
The vacation was great and the kids did great traveling!
